Guidelines for Submission
The Organizing Committee is glad to inform that accepted abstracts will be published in The Anatomic Record.
Submission, Deadline
Abstracts have to be submitted exclusively online.
Deadline for submission is 28 February 2025 [11:59 PM - UTC/GMT +1 hour]
Authors can submit their abstracts for symposium, free communications and posters.
Submitted abstracts can only be modified prior to the submission deadline.
The presenting author must be listed first and must be the author that submits the abstract.
Topic, Language
Each contribution must relate to one of the featured Symposium topics.
Each abstract can only be submitted to one featured Symposium topic.
Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
Size, Content
(List of) author(s): Submit a given name and a family name.
Affiliation(s): Include authors’ institution, city and country.
Title: Make the title of the abstract brief, informative and clear. The maximum length of the title is 15 words and should be written in sentence case.
Body: A clear, one-paragraph summary limited to 250 words. Include the purpose of the study, the methods used, the findings and their significance. Note that references and figures should not be included in abstracts. Avoid abbreviations, acronyms unless essential.
Abstracts must be structured as follows: Background, Case Study / Methods, Results, Discussion/Conclusion
The title should be written in standard sentence style with lower case letters (except first word, names, human gene names [always upper-case letters & italics], etc.).
The text should be grammatically suitable for publication.
Special characters can be included during submission.
Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in the text.
The usage of special formatting should be limited. The correct replication in all media cannot be guaranteed.
Conditions, Requirements
The presenter is responsible for compliance with data protection, copyrights, ethical regulations and laws.
To secure anonymity of the review process, names and locations should not be disclosed in the abstract.
Authors’ fees or royalties cannot be claimed.
All listed authors have to consent to the abstract text as well as to their publication in all Symposium media.
Conflicts of interest through commercial benefits have to be disclosed.
After submitting the abstract, authors can edit it until the deadline for submission - 28 February 2025 [11:59 PM - UTC/GMT +1 hour]
Authors will be notified about the submission of their abstract by e-mail immediately. In case you don't receive confirmation within 24 hours, please check your spam folder. In case of no confirmation e-mail, please contact the secretariat: isms2025@leading.pt
Review, Registration
E-mail notifications about acceptance or rejection will be sent to the presenting author subsequent to the reviewing process by 04 April 2025.
The presenting author must register by 15 April 2025.
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by several international experts.
Evaluation criteria are:
- Adherence to all submission requirements including submission of abstracts on or prior to the deadline date.
- Clearand concise writing of abstract which emphasizes the rationale, including the clinical and/or educational significance of results.
- Inclusion of all relevant results. Failure to present results in abstracts will exclude it from the review process.
- Abstracts that contain formal errors (multi-topic submission, not anonymised) will be rejected.
Abstracts may be selected for one of the following presentation forms:
- Presential Symposium
- Parallel Free Communications Sessions
- Poster displayed through out the Conference
- e-Poster available through out the Conference
All selected abstracts irrespective of category will appear on the ISMS 2025 APP. Abstracts selected for Free Communication and Poster presentation will appear in the on-line Abstract book. For those abstracts selected as e-posters only the titles and the authors names will be included.
